Squadron information
Welcome to No 315 (City of Canberra) Squadron
No 315 (City of Canberra) Squadron is oldest of the three AAFC squadrons in the ACT, being formed on 21 August 1951 as 15 Flight of No. 2 New South Wales Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC). In 2001, the unit was renamed 315 Squadron under the organisational change from the Air Training Corps (AIRTC) to the present day Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC). 315 Squadron relocated to the dedicated ADF Cadets facility at HMAS Harman in 2005.
The Squadron offers inspiring and challenging military-like experiences, including flying (gliding, powered aircraft and UAVs), aerospace and aviation theory, leadership, self-discipline, safe firearms handling, fieldcraft and navigation, first aid, drill and ceremonial, and service knowledge.
Parades are on Tuesday
nights from 1830 to 2130 during the ACT school term. Optional weekend activities are every four to six weeks, with camps and courses held during school holidays.
Enrolment is open to young people from the ACT and surrounding areas of NSW.
